The Clipper Duet is supplied complete with paddlewheel transducer (for installation on most types of GRP hulls) and in hull depth transducer.
Electromagnetic Log – speed through water – with no moving parts! It will replace most conventional paddle wheels from all manufacturers!
The EML-3 electromagnetic speed log measures the boat speed through the water with no moving parts.
Robust and accurate, the sensor generates an alternating magnetic field below the boat and measures the resulting electric field produced by the boat moving through the water. This signal is converted to a pulse stream to replace any existing paddle wheel sensor.
With excellent linearity and a resolution of 0.1 Knot, over the range 0.2 to 40 Knots, the control box converts the sensor signal to a pulse output to connect to any NASA Marine paddle wheel log display (Clipper Duet, Clipper Log, Target Log, Stingray Log)
Pulsed output to replace exsiting paddle wheel unit
Pulses per nautical mile adjustable from 15000 to 25000 PPM
Output levels – High 5V P to P
Low 0.5V P to P
(note – the transducer is a low profile unit, the 50mm OD skin fitting included
will need to be fitted in place of your current fitting)
For a complete solution the EML-3 electromagnetic transducer and controller can be supplied together with a Clipper Duet
Product video below, connected to a Clipper Duet combined Depth and Log. Shown with kind permission of one of our valued beta testers.
The product consists of a translator box which inputs the NMEA 0183 speed log data sentences VHW + VLW. It translates the 0183 data into NMEA 2000 compliant speed and distance data for connection via a ‘micro-c’ connector directly into an existing NMEA 2000 network.
A high performance instrument system that shows almost instantaneous changes of wind speed and direction.
In demanding conditions, where high performance is essential, the Clipper Tactical wind system is the ideal choice. With ten updates every second it responds very quickly to the changes in wind speed and direction, which occur during tricky manoeuvres. The sensor is supplied complete with a mast mounting kit, 20 metres of light weight cable and all necessary electrical connectors to complete the installation. The output data is in the NMEA 0183 format and can be used to drive any compatible display that utilises the MWV sentence.
All instruments in the Target Range come complete with sensors or transducers as appropriate and all necessary fittings. They are designed to run on 12v supply, but due to the very low power consumption there is no reason why they cannot run off dry batteries. They provides accurate readings for owners of sailing craft and powerboats alike. Following the NASA design philosophy, the Target Log is simple and reliable showing speed in knots, trip distance to 999 nautical miles and total distance run up to 999 nautical miles.
The Target Log is supplied with a through hull paddle wheel unit designed for installation on most GRP type hulls.
The Clipper True Wind Display shows apparent wind speed and direction, when connected to a log or GPS, it can also show true wind speed and direction.
Requires NMEA boat speed input either VHW from log or RMC from GPS for True wind speed and direction
Supply voltage nominal 12 Volts
Supply current 10mA + (10mA for back light
NMEA input sentence MWV
Back light – 9 levels
Pointer style – 1
Display wind speed – 0 to 99 Kts
Display Wind angle – 0 to 360 degrees
represented by 60 segments
Display case size 110 x 110mm
The Clipper Depth Repeater has its own independent alarm function as well as repeating all data from the master unit.
Note – this is not a stand alone unit and cannot be connected to a depth transducer.
It must be connecetd to the Clipper Depth master display unit.
The Clipper Compass is a fully electronic compass with remote fluxgate sensor. The large clear display has 7 levels of illumination and gives True or magnetic heading. The sensor which is gimballed for plus/minus 30 degrees of pitch and roll, is mounted in a position where stray magnetic fields are at a minimum. An electronic auto calibration then cancels out small errors.
Steer to course function
When the steering function is selected a series of chevrons accumulate showing the magnitude and direction of the steering error. To stay on course simply turn the wheel in the direction of the chevrons until they are extinguished. The steering sensitivity can be preset by the user. An off course alarm provides a safety feature when not at the helm. If the heading deviates by more than a preset amount then the alarm will sound.
The BM-2 is designed to monitor performance of 12 volt lead acid battery systems with capacities of up to 999 Amp hours. It is supplied complete with a precision 200 AMP shunt and a prefabricated cable assembly to enable simple DIY installation. The unit continuously monitors voltage, current (charge or discharge), number of amp/hours (charge or discharge), the batteries state of charge and the time to charge or discharge. This information leads to more efficient use of the battery, which can enhance battery life and reduce the risk of failure.
